Jagjit Singh born on Feb. 8,1941 in Sri GangaNagar in Rajasthan, India. He had been the most popular ghazal singer in the world. He was awarded India's third highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhushan, in 2003. He was also Presented the Teacher's Achievement award in 2006. Jagjit singh sang songs in many bollywood movies including Arth, Saath Saath and Premgeet. These songs remain popular even today. He also Sung in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sindhi and Nepali.Besides Ghazals, He sung Bhajans and Gurbani. His voice was a true gift of God. Jagjit Singh produced many record breaking albums with his wife Chitra Singh. He is Unforgettable for us. We will always miss him.

i mi u truely jagjit ji. ur ghazals have been a true companion in our lives. i feel as if i have lost a friend. just cant get over ur death , sir. ur ghazals from the albums"the journey" and "silsilay" are absolut masterpieces. now that u are gone, who will be the sole companion of people in this dog eat dog world. ur voice was so soothing.now, how will the young generation know what a ghazals are. the actor manoj kumar aptly said" LOG KEH RAHE HAIN, JAGJIT NAHI RAHA,GHAZAL RO RAHI HAI,MERA MANMEET NAHI RAHA.".i just dont understand why did god take away u from us.may ur soul rest in peace.this year is going to end , but it has taken u from us, forever.MISS U GREATLY.
